Conflict services
We support organizations, groups, and individuals in finding alternative and peaceful results when conflict and disagreement naturally arises.
We’re here for courageous conversations.
Every situation is unique and so are our responses. We focus on helping you find harmony with others. That said, these categories best describe our conflict services:
Restorative Facilitation
This principled approach supports people and groups in finding positive ways forward when conflict has become an issue. Conflict can be things like negative interactions, disagreements, harmful incidents, or clashes resulting in disconnected relationships at work. The goal is to help people address conflict to move and forward in healthy ways. This process is non-adversarial, in good faith, and adheres to the pillars of restorative approaches. This is also helpful when groups are experiencing difficulty making a decision or are struggling after a decision has been made. Final reporting can be a piece of this intervention.
Restorative Investigation
This is helpful when allegations of harm have been made and leaders need to respond. In this process the standard tenets of investigation are met but with added focus and care for the impacts and needs of people involved. The goal is to help people address conflict and move forward in healthy ways while also delivering formalized reporting on the situation. This is an excellent replacement for legal intervention or traditional investigation when conflict is interpersonal. Our specialty is mending disconnected relationships.
Restorative Response to Workplace Sexual Harassment
Given the sensitive nature of these situations, the conditions must be right for this kind of intervention. The goal is to help people address the harm of sexual harassment and find safe ways to move forward. The needs of those harmed are most important and we work with everyone involved to find healthy ways forward. These cases may involve restorative investigation or formalized reporting. Shila is trained in trauma-informed approaches and the restorative approach ensures that consent is front and centre for everything that happens.
